Michael Von Bevern, CPA, CAIA

PARTNER & CO-FOUNDER

Michael (MVB) co-founded Socium, LLC to bring the alternative asset community a private equity focused fund administrator that combines advanced technology with consultative client service. An entrepreneurial leader with over 26 years of financial services experience in trading, operations and fund administration, Michael’s awareness of the needs of the private equity industry fueled his desire to offer an integrated solution of best in breed technology at a value price.

Prior to co-founding Socium, Michael was a Senior Managing Director and the Head of U.S. Operations for the Alternative Investment Solutions group of U.S. Bancorp Fund Services. Prior to joining U.S. Bancorp, Michael was a non-agency mortgage and whole loan trader at Dillon Read Capital Management. He began his career in public accounting at KPMG and spent time at Merrill Lynch in Fixed Income Operations and PaineWebber as the CFO of the Commercial Real Estate Division.

Michael is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York. He is also a graduate of Wagner College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Accountancy and St. John’s University, earning his Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

Beth Mueller, CFA

PARTNER & CO-FOUNDER

Beth co-founded Socium, LLC to bring the alternative asset community a private funds focused administrator that combines advanced technology with high-touch consultative client service. Beth has over 25 years of financial services experience in institutional fixed income portfolio management and fund administration. Beth’s passion for providing superior client service has fueled her desire to offer boutique fund services to the private funds industry.

Prior to co-founding Socium, Beth was a Senior Managing Director and the Head of Investor Services for the Alternative Investment Solutions group of U.S. Bancorp Fund Services. In this role, Beth developed and directed the investor on-boarding AML/KYC procedures, and all aspects of investor due diligence and reporting. Before joining U.S. Bancorp, Beth was the financial controller of Hilltown Capital Management’s fixed income credit fund. Beth began her career at Bloomberg LP, followed by Dresdner RCM Capital Management and Seneca Capital Management with a focus on institutional portfolio management.

Beth is a graduate of Rider University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance, and is a CFA charter holder.

Recognized across the alternative asset industry as an expert in fund administration, compliance, and investor related matters.

Amy Sung, CPA

PARTNER

Amy is a proven leader with 13 years of experience in fund administration, audit, and management.  She joined Socium for her desire to create thoughtful solutions for clients, focusing on technology and high-touch customer service.

Prior to joining Socium, Amy was a Senior Manager at U.S. Bancorp Fund Services, where she led an investor services team overseeing $10bn of client assets.   She served as the primary support contact for the firm’s allocation and reporting software, and was the main liaison with the technology team in creating customized reporting.  Prior to U.S. Bancorp, Amy was a senior auditor with Grant Thornton, LLP’s financial services practice focusing on private equity, real estate, and hedge funds.

Amy is a graduate of Fordham University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting.  She is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.

Janice Chen

PARTNER

Janice has built a career in fund administration and has extensive experience across all asset classes, fund structures and fee calculations, including complex carried interest and waterfall calculations.  Janice brings a proven track record of client success to the Socium leadership team and is responsible for on-boarding new clients, managing client relationships and ensuring that the team exceeds our clients’ expectations.

Prior to joining Socium, Janice was a Senior Manager and Director at U.S. Bancorp Fund Services, where she held multiple roles within investor services, client on-boarding and fund accounting.   Throughout her career, Janice has served as the go to person for helping fund managers and general partners with fund formations, the interpretation of fund documents, and modeling complex fee calculations.  Prior to U.S. Bancorp, Janice began her career at BNY Mellon, Alternative Investment Services, focusing on fund accounting and partner allocations, as well as creating standard operating procedures to achieve accuracy and optimal efficiency.

Janice is a graduate of Rutgers University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting.
